The seven new wonder lists are horrible and the reason is rather clear. The reason is depends on the voting volume through the internet which is the strong points of developing countries with large population.
So, you may wonder what the founder of this organization is. It is the idea of a man called Bernard Weber. He was born in Swiss and now he is a Canadian film maker, aviator as well as adventurer. There are many people who think that this operation is the effort of one individual who want to earn money for him. Although Weber said that the money he take from nations is used to operation the organization and that no one benefits from that money, there are still some questions about this.
Firstly, according to Swiss law there is no disclosure how much Weber and the other would be paid. In some case, the leader of an organization can pay themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars, or more, out of money donated for charitable causes. Weber can be one like this.
The second question is Weber has set up a for-profit company called the New Open World Corporation (NOWC) to help run and administer the voting and other logistical duties. How to legally funnel non-profit money to a for-profit endeavor and line everyones pockets with cash? Simple. The non-profit corporation collects $10 million dollars from various sources and then pays the for-profit company $9 million to run all the logistics of the effort.
